September will see not one, but two new premieres for Clearwater’s indie company, Wild Heart Films. The movies, Sanderson County and All The World will premiere less that ten days apart, but the premieres themselves are worlds apart. Sanderson County will have a more low key premiere at the upscale Channelside Theater complex in Tampa, but the red carpet will be rolled out at the historic Renaissance Vinoy Hotel in St. Petersburg for the premiere of All The World. At the Sanderson County premiere guests will be treated to RC Cola and a Moon Pie, whereas All The World guests will dine elegantly on Chicken Wellington and Panache of Berries. The premiere themes are designed to reflect the subject matter of the movies. Chicken Wellington just didn’t seem to be the right vittles for the charming rural mockumentary Sanderson County, and Moon Pies didn’t seem to lend themselves to the modern-day Shakespeare-driven comedy All The World. But why would any micro-budget independent film company in their right minds decide to release two films at two different premieres in the same month? “Who said anything about right minds?” laughs Mandy Wildman, writer/director of All The World. “We’re in the business of doing the impossible on a daily basis. All The World had over 100 specialized costumes, numerous props, almost 30 locations, including two mansions, and a production budget of $25,000. We came in under budget. Now that was tricky!” The load is a little lighter than it would seem to be, though, as Wild Heart Films is merely associate-producing Sanderson County, written and directed by Wayne Porter. “We shot the two films back to back, and that was very hectic, but we used mostly the same crew on both films and they were great,” says Porter. Porter’s film had a budget of just $4,000. The partners at Wild Heart Films are no strangers to film premieres, however. You may recall reading about the premiere of Wild Heart Films’ first feature, “In the Open,” written and produced by Laura Sherman. “Each guest was given a pocket chessboard, among other items,” says Sherman. “And the gifts and surprises are going to be even better this time around, but you’ll have to attend the premieres to find out what they are!” Part of the proceeds from the tickets will go to the Cedar Bennett Project Inc., a non-profit organization.
