Mandy Wildman was born and raised in
England. She studied for three years at Mountview Theatre School in London, learning the
classics as well as Film/TV/radio techniques, and then toured Europe and the Middle East
as a singer.
She traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa in
1980 to appear in a show, and spent the next six years working in the industry. During
that time she appeared in two movies, four TV series, more than a dozen radio dramas,
numerous radio commercial spots, eight or ten stage plays, several musicals and cut a
record and a music video with WEA records. She also performed as a singer, solo and in
various bands and duos, and appeared in several concerts around the country.
Mandy made her way to the U.S., and after a
short stay in Florida, headed for Los Angeles, California, where she spent nine years
appearing in and/or producing about ten independent TV dramas, three low-budget movies,
and writing three screenplays. She also spent time learning the business of film making
and perfecting her craft.
Mandy found her way back to Florida
in 1998, and was delighted to be in a position to help other aspiring actors and film
makers realize their dreams. Later the same year she directed a feature film called In The Open, a film written and produced by her film partner Laura Sherman.
They have just finished editing their latest project,
All The World.
Mandy is married to film maker and improvisation
coach Wayne Porter. They have one gorgeous son, Talbryn
Storm Porter.
